Having everything to hand when you are concentrating on complex orthopaedic surgery is highly valued by the expert team at Manchester Veterinary Specialists (MVS). Custom packs designed specifically for MVS by Vygon Vet, mean the vets and nurses benefit from easy access to all the products they need in the operating room allowing them to focus on the procedure. It also reduces administration time afterwards too.
With all the surgical equipment in one pack from one supplier, the team only needs to re-order from a single source saving time researching and ordering the contents from a variety of different companies.
Recently opened, MVS is a companion animal orthopaedic referral centre led by orthopaedic surgeons Ben Keeley and Steve Bright, both of whom are European and RCVS Recognised Specialists in Small Animal Surgery. The brand new, bespoke referral centre, just two miles from junction 14 of the M60, is purpose-designed and fitted with the latest equipment.
The centre specialises in dealing with injuries or diseases affecting the limbs, bones and joints in cats and dogs. The priority is to look after patients as well as their owners, so the more time the team has to focus on that care the better.
“The custom packs are designed to our own specifications which is great for us,” explains Nicola Casement, Referral Veterinary Nurse at MVS. “ Each one contains drapes, bulb syringes, kidney dish, bandage, scratch pad, suction and suction tip.
“It saves us so much time all round and is no more expensive than buying everything separately. The boxes arrive sterilised and ready to use. We get them in as and when we need them and it’s just a great service.
“As well as saving us time in ordering the products separately from different suppliers, we also save wear and tear on the autoclaves.
“We want to spend as much of our time with our patients and their owners as we can so the packs are just perfect for what we need.
